As an advocate for philanthropy, Gabe has founded Teen Hampton, a platform that provides families with babysitting and sport lessons. Gabe has a natural love for community, which is why he created a business that can’t run without the help of kids his age from his area.
What really stood out to me during our conversation was his ability to communicate honestly about his passions and perspective. Gabe was clear on separating his interests of business and service, as he believed merging them would be a detriment to both arenas. Gabe believed that scaling a business, determining wages, and creating a business model would be harder while factoring in service. I liked how he never diminished the importance of monetary growth while also complementing his business life with equally impressive service. I believe businesses can have successful charitable arms, but I believe it has to be genuine. Gabe feels that, on a personal level, he could provide the most value but separating his business from his charity. After all, philanthropy is concerned with benefiting others, not your own ego.
As someone who hopes to keep my podcast uncut and genuine, I found it so refreshing to have someone speak their mind with no second thoughts. Gabe’s emphasis on getting experience in the business world at a young age, puts him on track for many successful business ventures down the road. And although he wants to accumulate wealth and renown, he voiced the importance of building up communities and using his platforms to bring people together.
